You can survive failure
You can survive a failure, even many failures. But if you consistently work hard, you'll hit your goals, your success and dreams. And in a world in which most people go after what they want, you too can get what you want. Don’t be scared of failure. Face it. Be brave and you are at the winning side.
Picture the benefits
How would your life be better if you work hard for it and got what you want? Keep a tangible list or picture of those benefits in front of you for motivation that burns your spirit of success.
Learn from failure
Face with your failures. Evaluate, study and look for clues of why you fail. After each failure, try to get feedback to improve it. Maybe you are in the right direction, but you dealt the situation the wrong way. To achieve success, try to improve your management style or whatsoever that can lead you to the right direction.
Don't punish yourself
Even deeply flawed people deserve a good life. Ask for what you want, if not for yourself, for those who will benefit from your better life. And if depression is holding you back, get help. Calm yourself. Take a deep breath and be strong.
Set small daily goals
Good things happen to those who act. Set a goal for yourself. Streamline you plans. Set short-term goals. By achieving these short-term goals meaning that you are in the correct direction for your long-term goals.
Ask yourself what you really want and listen to your heart
Build your own psychologically self -defense. Let's say you think, "I want to be a successful businessman”. Keep this in your mind. Imagine that you are already becoming a successful businessman. This message will be triggered into your brain cells. Which will enhance the way you act, work and think.
Remind yourself of a time you were successful
The feeling of success is so sweet and full of satisfaction. That may give you the confidence to try again and again and again to achieve it.
Tell your loved ones of your dreams
You'll feel more comfortable and inspired. By their moral support, this will energizes you more.
Schedule a time to re-evaluate your plans
Put it in your planner or PDA. This will remind you of your progress.
Force yourself to work hard for the success
Feel the joy of success. Read books about successful people. Find tips of how they achieve their success. Be friend with successful people. Mixed around with successful people. Fear of failure is your utmost enemy. If you are facing problems, take a few deep breaths and don’t shy to ask people for guidance. Find a successful person as an idol for you.

TIPS - HOW TO MAKE YOUR DREAM COME TRUE
Motivation is one of the factors that generate action for people to achieve success. Every person has their own ambition and dream of what they want in their life. In order to get what they want, people have to act accordingly to the correct direction of their goal.
Here are some tips as a guideline for that :
SET YOUR MIND OF WHAT YOU WANT
What do you want? What is your goal? Set it in your mind.
SET A CLEAR GOAL
Your goal must be clear, realistic and can be achieved. If it is a car, you must know what type of car that you want. How much is the price? This is important because if you don’t really know your goal exactly and clearly, you can’t see the correct direction. Set a short term and long term plan to achieve your goal. This will help you evaluate your progress and direction.
IMAGINE IT
If you set a clear goal, you are able to imagine it. Image it by hard. Every day. Every night, before you go to sleep. Imagine that you already get what you want. This will motivate you and create positive atmosphere. Believe it or not, by doing this your brain will stimulate and give you ideas of how to achieve your goal.
IMAGINE IT EMOTIONALLY
You not only imagine it. Feel it, put it in your emotion. This will make you treat it as an important issue in your life. Therefore you will work harder to achieve it.
SAY THAT YOU CAN
You must always confident that you can get what you want. You can achieve your goal. You are fully confident of it. Yes you can. YES YES YES ......

TIPS - RETIREMENT ?
How much would one need for retirement ?
Experts say this depends on the individual and his lifestyle. And how much he is willing to reduce consumption – to eat out less often, buy fewer things, live in a smaller house, drive less, drive a smaller car and travel less. The rule of the thumb, is managing on 60% of your last drawn pay.
If a family in Kuala Lumpur with two kids and two cars needs RM5,000 today, at retirement, expenses should go down to RM3,500.
Even based on this calculation, one would need RM747,000 if one were to live for 25 years after retirement, and RM806,200 for the next 30 years, factoring in the inflation and interest rates.
Going by statistics revealed in EPF's 2005 annual report, about 90% of EPF contributors have less than RM100,000 in their accounts. So sole dependence on one's EPF savings as a safety net is not good enough.
Assuming that one can live on RM1,000 a month, to survive for 25 years, one would still need a substantial RM300,000 and for 35 years, RM420,000.
A person should not start purchasing big assets like property or a house late in life as the danger is that once they have retired they may not be able to meet the instalment payment on it.
When you are in your late 40s, you should be winding down and not committing to high expenses to buy big things.
There are some cases where retirees have had banks auction off their houses because they could not meet the monthly loan payment.
There is also the problem of credit card temptation. There is a worrying trend that more and more younger people are becoming bankrupt as they are spending “tomorrow's money”. Which basically means these people are not saving or building their retirement nest.
Ideally, people should start saving from the time of conception; that way would be able to enjoy the magic of the compounding effect .
A noticeable trend is that while the younger generation is prepared to invest in new financial instruments, the older generation gravitates towards fixed deposits.
That is very risky because you would not be able to accumulate enough because the interest rates can't meet the inflationary rate and your money is getting smaller.
What people should do is to be more aggressive in their investment.
In investing, you should not be looking at the date of retirement but rather the date of potential death which is probably still another 21 years away after retirement.
The best way is, only keep about six months of your monthly expenses in the savings and FDs and put the rest in investment products that generate more income than the inflation rate.
A good private pension would help people in their retirement years. In developed countries, money put into savings for retirement is not taxable, neither is the profit from that investment.
When you retire, you can't take the money out in a lump sum either or you'd have to pay tax on it. This will force you to withdraw your money on a regular monthly basis for retirement because that's tax free.
Singapore has such a scheme, the voluntary Supplementary Retirement Scheme, which complements the Central Provident Fund (CPF). Such a scheme has not taken off in Malaysia for a number of reasons.
It would be a loss of revenue to the Government because people would not be paying taxes on money put aside for retirement. It would benefit only the rich and middle income group as the poor might not be able to afford it.
Perhaps it hasn't taken off too because the Malaysian economy is pretty dependent on consumer spending. And the Government wants you to spend.
There should also be an asset liquidation law in the country. It is puzzling that there are all sorts of incentives for asset accumulation, but none for liquidation.
An example of asset liquidation would be to reverse mortgage your house to the bank in return for a guaranteed monthly income until you die.
The asset would at the end of the day belong to the bank or insurance company. But in the meantime, the person has the right to continue to live in the house until death and get a monthly income too.
If they outlive the value of the house, the bank loses.
As our population ages and life expectancy increases, more thought must be given by both individuals and the Government on how to develop a culture of planning and saving for one's retirement.

TIPS - WHY BUY LIFE INSURANCE ?
People are living longer, life expectancy for women is 76 years. For men it's 72. With this kind of longevity, people have got more than 20 years after retirement. 60 would be a more ideal retirement age.
People are marrying later too. Which means they are having children later in life. If a person has a kid at the age of 35 and retires at 55, the odds are that his child at 20 would probably still be at university or college and his education require financing.
On average, the Malaysian household spent 5.7% on education last year. With the cost of education rising by 6% each year, this is expected to climb steadily.
While parents might buy an education insurance plan for their children, but most of them will find that the amount is insufficient. More often than not, parents are willing to give up “everything”, including their own retirement fund for the kids. Which leaves them in a vulnerable position in their old age, unless of course their children provide for them.
As for life insurance, only 40% of Malaysians are covered. This is a small number compared to 100% in Singapore, 80% in the United States and 400% in Japan (where one person has four policies on average).
And even if one has savings from the EPF or bank account, people should still worry about retirement. This is because without a new source of income, that money would run out. This is especially so if one runs into health problems which is common when people grow older.
Medical inflation is easily 15% each year. And this could really eat into the savings. The medical bill is just like as a “hole” which if not plugged would leak away one's entire retirement and savings.
So one of the solution to overcome this is by having life insurance that provides protection and peace of mind for you and family if you are diagnosed with health problems.

TIPS - RETIREMENT PLAN
With people living longer, marrying and having children later and not saving enough, facing retirement is a challenge. While there is growing awareness about the need to plan, less than 5% are prepared for retirement and fail to take into consideration inflation rates and rising medical costs.
In 1981, when Kamal graduated, he got a job in KL which paid him RM1,800 a month. He bought an imported Mazda at RM17,000 and months later he put down money on a RM78,000 single-storey terrace house.
Today, 25 years later, Lily, one of Azman's daughter has just finished university. Her starting pay is RM1,800, just like her father's two and a half decades ago.
But unlike her father's time, imported cars cost over RM100,000 today. So Lily has opted to buy a Proton for RM45,000 (more than double what her dad paid for his first car).
While her father could afford to buy a house early in his career, Lily can't. Houses in KL these days cost at least RM200,000 so she has to work for a few years first before she can own one.
Compared to 25 years ago, the prices of goods, food, petrol and electricity have all gone up. Understandably, it's an uphill task for Lily to save on her RM1,800 salary, since the purchasing power of her salary is much lower than her father's back in the 1980s.
It is a fact that wages have not moved in tandem with the rise of the cost of living and inflation. That trend is expected to continue.
If people do not start planning early for their retirement, they are going to find themselves in a spot after they turn 55.
Today, three meals cost you RM20, but in 20 years time, with an inflation rate of 6% a year, you will need RM64 per day for the three meals.
So while the RM500,000 in your EPF or bank account at retirement might look good on paper, if you do not invest that money to make it grow at a rate higher than the inflation rate, 20 years later, it would be worth only RM145,053 in purchasing power!
Reality hits when people find that they cannot afford to retire because they had not seriously put aside the money early on in life.
People in their 20s think they are too young to think about retirement, while those in their 30s and 40s tend to believe they are doing enough because they have their EPF savings, and those who are 55 feel it is just too late for them.
And the truth is at 55, most people cannot afford to retire.

TIPS - AMBITION THAT LEADS TO SUCCESS
Luck can open the door for you. But you still have to walk through it. Luck is more about being prepared for those opportunities that come knocking your door. You have to have an open mind, the right skill and all your senses working to see what opportunities presents themselves.
That’s what happened to Taryn Rose, a Vietnamese refugee who moved to United States when she was eight. She hopes that she would follow in footsteps of her father … becoming a physician. However, different things happen. After working 36 hours shifts as a resident in orthopedic surgery, she experiences a lot of sore feet. But unlike most of her colleagues, she turned her pain into profit. Today she is CEO of TARYN ROSE INTERNATIONAL a $28 million company that makes comfortable shoes.
She got her medical degree from University of Southern California, but she found her heart was no longer in medicine. She always loves shoes and wanted to learn new things about it. To fulfill her ambition she had become friends with a sales clerk who knew people in shoe industry in Italy. She made the introduction and headed off to Milan to learn how to make shoes. She did some research on her potential customers and with the data she manage to get a $200,000 loan in 1998. She wore out a lot of her own shoe leather showing samples to independent shoe stores and buyers at upscale department stores.
At the beginning, she did everything by herself, from designing, marketing and accounts. There are moments when she felt so frustrated and even crying. But with great patient and ambition, she never gave up. Finally, her effort rewarded. After 8 years after she started her business, now her shoes can be found in more than 220 stores worldwide.
Rose has no regrets about leaving medicine. What she did is not all that different from what she did as a physician. The goal is the same … to relieve pain. As a surgeon, she might helped only a few people but with her shoes, she is helping hundred of thousands of people.
